Project task
Upon understanding architecture and its inherent value, appreciating it, and developing approaches to observe said values through the wash of time.

​Project 1
This assignment is divided into two components. One is the group component and second is the individual component that will be expected to be executed at the same time as the group component.

In groups of 4 - 5, students are required to find, research, analyze and present four (3-4) case studies of heritage conservation projects of a small (min 300sqm) to medium size building (max 1500sqm). The projects should comprise international projects and minimum one local project. One of the projects should be a post-modern design.

Base on one of the building in the group case study, individually students are required to present a discussion, elaboration, and thoughts on one of the 7 Lamps of Architecture by John Ruskin and to relate it to the “appreciation, awareness and the importance of architectural heritage and conservation”.

Project 2
Individually, students are required to prepare a Heritage and Conservation Proposal Report on the selected given heritage buildings at Sungai Buluh Leprosarium; (the building name will be given in appendix). The client (PKKN) has requested to make improvements and to add additional toilets and kitchen without loosing the character of the existing chalet. Students are required to show the proposed layout plan, the materials, construction, and the required procedures.
